![]() And even flying versions in the same game! 3D Land loves Biddybuds, and so do we. And one of the wonderful things it did was give us Biddybuds! Little eyes-in-a-void ladybug creatures that come in all sorts of fun colors and move in groups in a set pattern. inky piranha plant super mario 3d land mario mario enemies mod hooligon For Splatoon 3, I think we should be able to play as Piranha Plants as well. We can play as squids, and we can play as octopuses. I’m not really sure where I’m going with this post anymore, but I’ll leave this with one last note. With Inky Piranha Plant, Mario can remain thoroughly uninked while the screen still gets covered in all sorts of blots! I guess what I’m really trying to say is that I find it really neat that there is an enemy specifically designed to screw with the interface of the game – that’s not something you see too often! This enemy is well-aware that there is a player behind the camera, controlling Mario’s every move, and instead of hurting Mario? The Inky Piranha Plant says “to heck with it” and targets the player instead.Ī similar technique is employed by the Blooper in Mario Kart games, but in this game, you can clearly see the kart get inked, and since you’re always trailing behind it, you can just assume ink gets on the camera from the leftover spray. Most enemies in the series are focused on hindering Mario himself, by various means of running into him, biting him, or crushing him, but Inky Piranha Plant… has four-dimensional vision. I hope you enjoyed that “thought-provoking” “”horror”” from good ol’ Mod Hooligon, but really, it’s just a lead-in to talking about one of the Mario series’ most creative enemies! While it may not seem impressive at a glance, just a Piranha Plant colored in black rather than red, the Inky Piranha Plant has an incredibly unique gimmick, where it fires inkblots at the screen that obstruct your vision! Perhaps, it may enjoy that plumber as a snack, but it is aware of an entity in another dimension. The enemy, unlike every other enemy in the game, shows little concern towards the well-being of the red-clad plumber. And then, on one fateful level, you encounter… the Inky Piranha Plant. You look at the little man on the screen, his name is “Mario.” The game does not seem particularly peculiar, at least, not outside the range of the usual. Imagine, that you will, that you are playing a video game. Spike eel super mario 3d land mario mario enemies mod hooligon Spike Eel! We all love you! We are thankful for your inclusion, and thankful that you have graced all of our copies of 3D Land! Thank you so much! But I suppose it is best that Spike Eel was included at all, for it is now that we can show our love for it. Yeah, it’s pretty much the same thing as the Maw-Rays seen in many, many other Mario games, and heck, even the same thing as the Gringills in the Galaxy games! Why, how many of you even remembered Spike Eel existed until this post showed up on your blog? Because I didn’t! If you did, then you are a more honorable person than I am.īut it is not Spike Eel’s fault that it was created to fill a niche that had already been filled by other enemies before, it is only the artists at Nintendo who decided to put Spike Eel into the game. This is Spike Eel’s sign that we should respect its personal space, and I can accept that.įor those of you wondering, Spike Eel’s whole deal is that it pops out from caverns in underwater levels to bite at Mario, then swims back in, and repeats this whole process periodically. ![]() And shamefully so, too! Look at those lovable dopey eyes and that buck-toothed smile! Why, if this thing wasn’t covered in spikes, I’d want to give it a big ol’ hug! But it is covered in spikes. Talk about an enemy doomed to be forgotten since its inception.
